Not sure if you’ve noticed the news in the last couple of days, but our tree house at the corner of Princess and Union has been featured in the news.

Apparently there is someone with a pissed off neighbor in the Dunbar / Kerrisdale area that had been told by the city to take down his tree house.

In true west side spirit, I guess he pointed them our way in the spirit of “if I can’t do it, then they can’t either”.

So, while we are very happy with our tree house and obviously with Jane and Erika as our neighbors, no one will be complaining from our direct neighbors.

But it does beg the question… is the tree house considered offensive to anyone else in the community?

We tried to build it in the heritage style, and painted it in the “true colors” that the city heritage board asks you to.

So… what do you think of our tree house?

Good thing / bad thing?

I, for one, love your treehouse. Every time I walk by it reminds me of the spirit that makes me love this neighbourhood.

Good thing!
